FounderDana LeDuff Slaughter, MS, is a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach with over a decade of experience in integrative and clinical wellness. With a master’s degree in integrative nutrition and advanced training through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, she specializes in translating complex health science into accessible, sustainable lifestyle strategies.
She has led clinical operations and patient-centered coaching within a physician-guided integrative practice since 2014, supporting personalized care across diverse populations. As the founder of Vital Nest, she blends evidence-based nutrition with a holistic, lifestyle-first approach that bridges science, strategy, and sustainable behavior change to help individuals build lasting health from within.
Kenneth Slaughter
FounderKen is a personal chef, wellness advocate, and former New York City first responder. His time in the restaurant industry and grocery retail following his training at New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute revealed that many of the health problems he and others suffer from are derived from what is eaten. After gaining a deeper understanding of what is real food and what is marketed as food, his approach to cooking transformed from nostalgic cravings to beneficial nourishment.
As cofounder of Vital Nest, he provides support and guidance in taking the steps to live a more natural way. Though formally trained, he practices and teaches intuitive cooking and mindful eating. His approach food exposes people to the elements of self care, sharing it as a foundational path to directly experiencing what it is to be well.
